Personally, I'd like to see something different in Chapter 4 but keeping within the current GW universe, that is to say, not necessarily not releasing a new area, but keeping hold of all of the lore around it.

My own personal hope is that we can get off of the "save the world" path and maybe have a choice of whether you want to save it or kill it. In fact, I'd LOVE if the next game was about helping Abaddon reclaim his throne, but thats probably not "commercial enough" and Arenanet (while being one of the best and brightest companies out there) probably haven't got the ....errr...strength to pull it off. Save the world, with Hallmark moments again then.

If it IS to the North as Anet have suggested/confirmed, what do we already know about that area?

In fact, I'm gonna start a different thread on that.

ok the Giant idea seems closest, maybe the gods are really decendents of the giants

similar to greek mythology, the titans(greek) where giants and then Zeus took over. AND FOR GOD'S SAKE, HAVE YOU SEEN THE SIZE OF GW GODS??? THEY ARE FREAKIN' HUGE.

With all these ideas...I dont think that Anet will make a story line that goes back in time and tells of the past. I think they will go more in teh future about mabey what happens to the continents or a new continent after all the termoil of Abbadon was vanquished. Mabey once Abbadon was killed civil war broke out somewere or a new race steped up to power. All in all no one knows for sure what to expect and i look forward to the surprise.

Actually u can kill a God, Alot of Mythologys allow so, Norse, Egyptian, Greek, they may be immortal (ie doesnt Age and so will live forever) but does not make them invunerable (unable to be harmed)

abaddon is indead very weak but not dead and of course you can kill a god but only if you have in your pocession a magical item and you are the mighty hero(not the rank)that will save the world

Also not true, some mythos Gods can be killed as Easily as Humans, in others they can only by other gods.

There's too many things left unsolved...could be anything.....

Personally,i'd really like to see the rebuilding of ascalon....make it a few years later like what some earlier posts suggested.Otherwise, venturing further into the north or tht unseen land between tyria and cantha seems to be more logical.

I think you are confusing the title of god/goddess in GW and the person who has that title. If you read the plaque of kormir you'll note that the Abbadon was destroyed (the the being who held the title of god of secrets) But it says the power of a god cannot be destroyed and Kormir became the new god of secrets: the goddess of truth.

It seems that GW "theology" has the "essence" of a diety and the being that weilds that power & title. The being (the personality. In Abbadon's case, evil) can be destroyed. The "essence" cannot. ie: there will ALLWAYS be a god/goddess of secrets/truth.

It's true, there is not much more in the way of epic battles. You can't really top fighting a friggen god! Honestly if they tried to make something seem MORE important, taht would just be retarded.

Personally, I'd like to se a SMALLER scale. something more local, more detailed & personal. Not everything has to be the end of the universe. Smaller scope can acctually be better.

yup i agree with you they should make something in a smaller scale and not to save the world again its getting boring

I dont know if its been stated in this thread yet, but Grenth is portrayed as a very just god in the game, a polar opposite of the former god of death that he overthrew, Dhuum.

Just because your domain is death and ice doesnt mean your evil, Death is, afterall a natural part of life.

It doesnt seem at all to me like Grenth is the GW version of Satan, which might be what your relating him too.

lol why are people so obessed with wanted Dhuum and Menzies in the next chapter. With already done the whole Defeat a God thing, time for something new i think.

Besides Menzies is a weak version of Balthazar, after all Balthazar has to has someone to fight for eternity since he is the god of War it might as well be a family member (who better to fight). Dhuum got taken down just by Grenth he could never be a treat since the combined powers of the gods would easily out do him.

Back to good old fashioned saving the continent, eh?

The word is we've finished the Abaddon story arc and starting up a new one. So chances are we will be starting with something fairly small scale (albeit still dangerous if left unopposed) that will build up to something bigger in a later chapter.
